• Below is a list of recommended hotels in the Jacksonville area. I recommend staying in the hotels along Western Boulevard Extension. They are newer, cleaner, safer, and are within walking distance of restaurants and shopping. There are some along Marine Blvd near Walmart that are also acceptable. Check the WHERE TO STAY CHART that follows the hotel listings for their amenities. I highly recommend downloading Onslow County Tourism’s VISITOR'S GUIDE. It highlights places of interest found in Onslow County as well as the hotel amenities listing.
• Take into account that the rates offered are for the summer when rates are higher. Prices do not include tax. Check in is Thursday, July 10, 2025 – Sunday, July 13, 2025. Some hotels will allow you to adjust the dates. You will need to call the CONTACT PERSON at the hotel to make any changes. If you don’t want to use the link or have trouble with it, just call the contact person and they will help you.
• All hotels are non-smoking. Some have designated smoking areas. Cut off dates for these rates are listed for each hotel. The DECADE DESIGNATIONS (1950s-2000s) are merely suggestions. You can book wherever you want.
• Hotels that are NOT RECOMMENDED are as follows: Quality Inn, Red Roof Inn, Rodeway Inn, Suburban Studios, Triangle Motor Inn, Baymont Inn & Suites, Best Rest Inn, Days Inn, and Microtel Inn & Suites. These hotels have poor ratings and have had some safety issues.
• We have grouped the hotels together in Zones (hotels that are in the same general area of each other. Some are within walking distance of each other. All are near shopping and food.
• If you are retired or active-duty military, base policies and options are different than they were back in 2015. For example, you can only book a room at Inn of the Corps 7 days in advance.
