I did not hear about the water problem until early this year. My mother read about it in one of here USMC subscriptions.
We lived on Paradise Point from about 1956 to 1963.
I was told that area was safe, but then I had leukemia (AML) back in 2002 at the age of 57.

Did you think you would get out of this life alive?
But we did not expect a quicker death from chemicals.

Another Paradise Pointer with Colon cancer at age 43. We had no history of cancer until recently. Daddy has had 3 different cancers, mother died of lung cancer and I have been fighting colon cancer for 5 years now.  Funny thing is, who the heck STAYED at home?  Daddy worked at the hospital so we spent a lot of time at Hospital Point, which was contaminated. Plus I babysat a lot in places that were being fed contaminated water.

While your comment about none of us getting out of this alive is true, I certainly would have preferred not having it rushed by forced chemical contamination.  We never know what will come our way, and who knows what might have happened if we hadn’t been exposed to those chemicals for so long (we lived there from 74 to 78).  I’m just saying.

There has been more talk about it on CNN, and here recently in the Jacksonville News paper.

That is why I only drank bottled water, beer, and gin.
